Frequently Asked Questions

We want you to be at ease and feel at home! Maybe you’re wondering…

What kind of church is Crystal Lake Christian?
In short, we are a Bible-based, Christ-centered church. We have no denominational affiliation. We have no creed but Christ and no book but the Bible. That means that the Bible is our ultimate authority on all matters of faith and life. Our prayer, hope and goal is that everyone be connected to our local church and would grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

What should I expect if I come to one of your services?
It’s pretty simple: we sing together; we bear burdens together through prayer; we thank God for our blessings and victories; we hear God’s Word (The Bible) taught; we take communion.

What should I wear?
Come as you. People dress in anything from blue jeans & t-shirts to polos & khakis to dresses to button up shirts with a tie. Dress in whatever is comfortable for you. We couldn't be more thrilled to have you join us.

How long are the services?
A typical service lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes from front to back.

Is there a place for my kids?
Great question! We love kids of all ages here! You are more than welcome to keep your children with you during the services if you'd like; Or they can attend an age appropriate supervised space where they'll be taught about the love of our Lord.

Do I have to give money?
Only if you want to do so. From our perspective, if you are a guest, we prefer you don’t give but rather simply enjoy being a guest. Offering is for our members and those who attend regularly.

Should I partake in communion (a.k.a., The Lord’s Supper)?
Ultimately we live our lives before an audience of One and it is in this context that this should be answered. Scripture says we should examine our hearts, our lives and our relationship with God and before God prior to partaking in communion, this from 1 Corinthians 11:27-32.

One thing is for sure, you do not have to be a member of our congregation or a member of a Christian Church elsewhere to partake. Again, the decision to partake is one made between yourself and our Lord.

That said, welcome to His table!

What other weekly programs/activities do you offer?
Several! Check out our calendar and Ministries. And feel free to reach out to Pastor John directly: minister@clchristian.net.
