No Greater Joy

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” (3 John 4, NKJV)

I am rewarded frequently by the good behavior of my daughters. My heart leaps when I see them acting in a way that is consistent with God’s will because I know they’re standing upon the cornerstone of Christ, which is what is best for them.

So it is with the apostle John as he has “no greater joy” because he knows those who follow Christ are doing what is best. John knows their names are written in The Book of Life and when the role is called aloft their names will echo among the heavens.

This joy John feels does not stem from himself or what he has done. No, what John feels as his greatest joy is from his own relationship with the Lord and his bearing witness to the relationship his “children” are pursuing in, with and through Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior and Friend.

No greater joy? Yep, you can say that again!
